Please join us for our new choir called the MEGaphonics! It is ran by experienced musicians and is provided completely free of charge to enable children of all backgrounds to make music! Singing in a choir is not only extremely beneficial for musical and general development, but it is also a fantastic place to make friends, work together for a collective goal, and foster joy and community.
ABOUT THE CHOIR
VENUE
Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York
WHEN
Thursdays 16:15 - 17:15 (arrive from 16:00 for squash and biscuits!). Our first rehearsal is on Thursday 8th January.

WHO
We are initially welcoming year 4, 5 and 6 students of all abilities and backgrounds, however if your child is a year group above or below that and would like to get involved, please do still register interest.
PARKING
Following the collection of one of our MEGaphonics permits, parking will be completely free for all MEGaphonics members, allowing us to provide the choir completely free of charge. There are several car parks nearby.
REPERTOIRE
We will rehearsal a range of genres, in two or three part harmony. Music will include pop music, musical theatre, and classical. We will be handing out sheet music so the singers can develop their sheet music reading skills, but the entire learning process will be very accessible and suitable for complete beginners!
PARENTAL SUPERVISION: All choir leaders will have an enhanced DBS, however we do require a parent or guardian to be on campus during our rehearsals. Either watching from a seat in the Jack Lyons with a refreshment, or taking a stroll by the campus lake. We will collect emergency contact details so we can get in contact if there are any problems.

GET INVOLVED!
We are a very welcoming choir and open to all, so do not hesitate to get involved! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns by emailing meg@yorksu.org
